For lesson two we focused on indifference and faith.

What is indifference?

Definition of Indifference: Lack of interest or concern, unimportance; little or no concern.

Brother Andrew

We looked at Brother Andrew’s life, how he came to start Open Doors, a ministry working in over 60 countries to strengthen persecuted Christians.

Project Pearl

In 1981, Open Doors smuggled one million Bibles into communist China, in one night.

We asked how many Bibles do you own, how many are in your house?

The we watched a video of missionaries giving Bibles to Christians in China.  They open the suitcase full of Bibles, the Christians rush to the suitcase like a flood. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CkXDcdMNE-I

Then we watched a testimony from Sarah Liu, who was imprisoned in China, for writing a newspaper for the underground church.  I had watched Sarah’s Trail of Blood: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDw0EOYfXeY her testimony.  I went to one of the Voice of the Martyr’s regional conferences, https://secure.persecution.com/events/?source=WEB she was there, I was able to meet with her.  She was full of peace and joy.  I bought her book, a thirty day devotional, Sarah’s Journey of Faith, http://www.amazon.com/Sarahs-Journey-Faith-Conversion-A-Thirty-Day/dp/149082619X. 

After we watched and discussed Sarah’s testimony we read theses Scriptures:

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, ² fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. – Hebrews 12:1-2

³⁹ But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved. Hebrews 10:39
